Between the ragweed, the mold that comes with our humidity, and whatever the construction on University Drive is stirring up this week, a lot of Coral Springs residents spend the fall season sneezing. The salt room at Hopson Health is one of the most popular Core Recovery services for exactly that reason – and it’s also just a remarkably calm place to sit.
What halotherapy is
Dry salt therapy (halotherapy) uses a device called a halogenerator to grind pharmaceutical-grade salt into micro-particles and disperse them into the air of an enclosed room lined with Himalayan salt. You sit back in a zero-gravity lounger, breathe normally, and the salt does the rest. Sessions run about 30 minutes.
What people use it for
- Seasonal allergy and sinus congestion relief
- Support for asthma, bronchitis and post-cold recovery (always alongside, never instead of, your doctor’s care)
- Skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis
- Snoring and sleep quality
- Stress – the room is dim, warm-toned and silent. Many members call it “the nap room.”
What a session feels like
Honestly? Like sitting on a beach with no wind. The air is dry and faintly salty, the amber glow from the salt wall is soft, and the only sound is the quiet hum of the halogenerator. Wear comfortable clothes – short sleeves if you want the salt on your skin – and leave your phone in the locker. Halotherapy is one of the few Core services where doing nothing is the whole point.
Included in the Recovery Club
Salt therapy is a Core Recovery service, included in the Hopson Recovery Club ($149/month, unlimited, up to three services a day). It pairs well with the infrared sauna on a rest day, or as a cool-down after cryotherapy. Not a member yet? $30 for a single session, or $99 for the Core Recovery 5-Pack.
